Funding for the external promotion of the visual arts of the Balearic Islands 2020

Grant lines:

a) Mobility

Support for the mobility of artists, curators and cultural agents in the field of visual arts in the Balearic Islands.

b) External projection projects

Support for external projection activities in the field of visual arts in the Balearic Islands.

Projects that are subsidized

External projection activities, physical or telematic, in the field of visual arts:

- Exhibitions and artistic activities outside the island of residence.

- Participation in fairs and festivals outside the island of residence.

- Attendance and participation in training days outside the island of residence.

- residencies of artists, curators, cultural agents outside the island of residence.

Minimum requirements

- The reception spaces for the activities must be spaces for the diffusion of contemporary art, with a stable annual program of exhibitions and cultural activities in the field of visual arts.

- Artists must have at least one individual exhibition in their professional career or have participated in at least three collective exhibitions of visual arts in the Balearic Islands.

- Balearic cultural agents must have organized or promoted at least three cultural projects of Balearic visual artists.

- In the case of projects and/or collective exhibitions of more than 3 Balearic artists, only one application per project and/or exhibition must be submitted.

a) Mobility support

Support for the mobility of artists, curators and cultural agents in the field of visual arts in the Balearic Islands

Beneficiaries

Companies, creators and cultural agents related to the field of visual arts of the Balearic Islands, which produce and organize exhibition projects and artistic activities related to creators of the Balearic Islands.

Eligible expenses

It includes exclusively the expenses derived from traveling, accommodation, transport of work and registration or accreditation fees for fairs, festivals, professional conferences and/or visual arts residencies, with the maximum amounts provided for in point 14.2. of the call.

It is necessary to justify the concepts eligible for invoices. Only the justified amount will be paid until the maximums indicated are reached.

b) Support for external projection

Support for external projection activities in the field of visual arts in the Balearic Islands

Beneficiaries

Companies and organizations in the field of visual arts in the Balearic Islands, and those with tax residence outside our community, which produce and organize exhibition projects and artistic activities related to creators in the Balearic Islands.

Natural and legal persons who are registered for economic activity under headings related to the visual arts.

Eligible expenses

Eligible expenses are awarded based on the maximum amounts and valuation criteria set out in point 14.3. of the bases of the call.

- The mobility of artists, curators and cultural agents from the Balearic Islands. Only economy class tickets are accepted.

- Accommodation expenses, as long as they can be justified with invoices.

The other eligible items are scored according to the evaluation criteria established in point 14.3.1. of the bases of the call. The amount awarded is derived from the score obtained and the maximum amounts provided. They can be counted and include:

  • The transport of concentration and dispersion of the work.
  • The production of work linked to the promotional activity, up to a maximum of € 7,000 (seven thousand euros), as long as it can be justified with invoices.
  • In the case of the production of works for events for commercial purposes (fairs, exhibitions at art galleries), a maximum of 50% of the cost of production of works is subsidized, up to a maximum of € 5,000 (five thousand euros).
  •  Framing, construction of pedestals, furniture and conditioning of the stand at a fair, up to a maximum of € 500 (five hundred euros).
  • Nail-to-nail insurance.
  • Assembly and disassembly.
  • Exhibition space rental.
  • Accreditation fees and/or stand rental at fairs.
  • People's fees and hiring professional services.
  • The edition and translation of graphic and promotional material.
  • Medical insurance in the case of artist or curator residencies.
  • Mileage, with a maximum price of 0.240141 euros per kilometer on road trips that are not made by public transport.

Maximum amounts

The maximum annual amount that can be awarded per beneficiary is €25,000 (twenty-five thousand euros).

The maximum amounts per project that can be awarded for mobility are set out in point 14.2. The maximum amount per project for activities of external promotion (point 14.3.) is €25.000 (twenty-five thousand euros).

Deadline for submitting applications

From the day after the publication of the call for grants until 15 October 2020, both inclusive.

Documentation to be submitted to apply for the grant

Application for a grant
1) Grant application (Annex 2), completed and signed, together with all the required administrative and technical documentation: a copy of the applicant's ID, company documentation (statutes, foundation deed, CIF), project dossier, detailed budget, project financing plan

2) Responsible declaration (Annex 3), completed and signed

3) The grant application must be submitted to the IEB and be passed through the Institution's Registry. If the application can not be delivered to the IEB office, it must be sent by certificate or administrative mail (with the stamp on the first page of the application) to Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics, Ca n'Oleo, c/de l'Almudaina, 4, 07001 Palma, Spain.

Justification of the grant
1) You must submit Annex 5 completed and signed with the list of invoices and copies of invoices that justify the grant. Invoices must be accompanied by proof of payment. The justification must be registered. If the justification cannot be delivered to the IEB office, it must be sent by certificate or administrative mail (with the stamp on the first page of the application).

2) The justification must be accompanied by an evaluation report and copies of the promotional material prepared for the activity. Any promotional materials must include the logo of the IEB and acknowledge the support given (http://www.iebalearics.org/en/p/identitat/).
